Vokabulary Privacy Policy

Effective 1 October 2026

Vokabulary is an English vocabulary app made by Yaman Boztepe. It has no accounts and no sign-in. Your progress stays on your device. This page lists the little that leaves it, who receives it and why.

What stays on your device

We have no server and never receive this data. On iPhone and iPad it is kept out of iCloud backups; on Android, app backups are turned off. Deleting the app deletes it.

What leaves your device

RecipientWhatWhy
TelemetryDeck (analytics)Anonymous usage signals: a session started or ended, how many cards were answered, the longest streak, the time spent, a card shown or answered (with the word's ID, the kind of question, right or wrong, and its review box), and the daily time chosen in the introduction. Each signal also carries basic technical details the analytics library adds, such as the app version, system version, device model and region, and an anonymous, hashed installation ID; never your name, email or advertising identifier. To learn which words are too hard or too easy and improve the app.
RevenueCat (subscriptions)An anonymous app user ID and your purchase and subscription status from the App Store or Google Play.To know whether your subscription is active.
Google Firebase Remote ConfigA Firebase installation ID and basic app and device information needed to fetch settings. Firebase Analytics is turned off.To read the lowest supported app version, so an outdated version can ask you to update.
Apple or GooglePayments, handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play under their own privacy policies. To process your subscription.

We never send the words you study, their meanings or example sentences, the option you tapped, or your progress. We do not sell data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.

Reminders

Evening reminders are scheduled on your device by the system. Nothing about them is sent anywhere. You can turn them off in your device's notification settings.

Without a connection

The app works offline. Usage signals wait on the device and are sent later, or are lost; either way the app behaves the same.

Children

Vokabulary is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

Because the data we receive is anonymous, we cannot link it to you or look it up. To remove everything stored on your device, delete the app. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
